This special Pipelines edition of the CCMBC magazine is timely as it covers a number of topics related to pipelines. All Canadians should be keeping their fingers crossed that the Alberta-BC pipeline does indeed get built, and hopefully encourage even more pipelines in future, as we will all benefit greatly.
Perhaps the most frightening aspect of this is the Liberal government’s creation of a new oversight body called the Digital Safety and Data Protection Commission of Canada. For someone who claims to recognize that the federal bureaucracy is extremely bloated and needs to be reduced, Carney sure does create a lot of new government departments. One of the most worrisome aspects of this new body is that it appears it will have enormous powers over what Canadians are allowed to see and say, while being very poorly defined in the legislation.

Regarding Canada’s vital oil and gas industry, Canadians can be forgiven for believing they are listening to a broken record. As the contents of this month’s CCMBC Magazine indicate, oil and gas industry leaders have been emphasizing the magnitude of Canada’s missed opportunity from the Liberal government deliberately kneecapping the industry and preventing the construction of the infrastructure necessary to enable the export of oil and liquid natural gas (LNG) to reach its full potential. We continue to hear about the massive amount of potential GDP and employment growth we are squandering and how much we could help a world starving for more fossil fuel energy.
For some time, we at CCMBC have been hearing about the damage done to Canadian businesses by the unfair trade practice of dumping from other countries, notably China and some other Asian countries. That is why we chose to discuss the issue of dumping in the attached March 2026 CCMBC Magazine.
After reading this edition of our CCMBC Magazine, which is focussed on the dangers of getting too close to China, please share it with your friends and associates who naively believe this to be a good idea. It appears that lots of Canadians need a wake-up call.
